Why Turkey:
Turkey, country that occupies a unique geographic position, lying partly in Asia and partly in Europe. Throughout its history it has acted as both a barrier and a bridge between the two continents.
Turkey is situated at the crossroads of the Balkans, Caucasus, Middle East, and eastern Mediterranean. It is among the larger countries of the region in terms of territory and population, and its land area is greater than that of any European state. Nearly all of the country is in Asia, comprising the oblong peninsula of Asia Minor—also known as Anatolia (Anadolu)—and, in the east, part of a mountainous region sometimes known as the Armenian Highland. The remainder—Turkish Thrace (Trakya)—lies in the extreme southeastern part of Europe, a tiny remnant of an empire that once extended over much of the Balkans.
Turkey’s economic freedom score is 56.9, making its economy the 107th freest in the 2022 Index. Turkey is ranked 42nd among 45 countries in the Europe region, and its overall score is below the regional and world averages. The Turkish economy grew slowly from 2017 through 2020 but picked up in 2021. Unfortunately, a five-year trend of gradually declining economic freedom has accelerated. Dragged down by sharp decreases in scores for fiscal health and rule of law, Turkey’s economic freedom has plummeted 8.3 points since 2017, and the country has fallen from the “Moderately Free” category to the “Mostly Unfree” category. Trade freedom and investment freedom are highlights, but monetary freedom has deteriorated.

Izmir Marble Fair, one of the most important fairs of the world in the natural stone sector, will open its door to the whole world for the 27th time on 2022. Through the platform we have created together with 16 NGOs related to the mining sector, we contribute to the establishment of the right grounds in public authorities by forming the common views of the sector. We will endeavor to fulfill our duties and responsibilities to the maximum extent in order to maintain this unity in 2022 as well. Izmir Marble Fair set its moto for 2022 as “Production and export against all odds.”
